Hey my dears. How’ve you been since we last talked (or I should I say since I wrote and you read)? Well, I had a pretty good week, I was mostly busy because I had a bit of traveling to do for work, but my highlight was definitely the weekend when I got to celebrate mother dearest’s birthday. It honestly amazes me how much I love that woman, she’s not only my mother but my best friend and any reason to celebrate her is definitely worth it.As blessings go I hit the jackpot when it comes to my mum.

I’ve gone off on a tangent again. Jordan…focus!

So speaking of the weekend, last weekend I got to attend the DIVAlicious event at the Villa Rosa Kempinski. This got me thinking about how this classic hotel is surprisingly on trend. If you follow me on Instagram you would know that the perfect example of this is with their use of one of Pantone’s 2016 colours of the year, Rose quartz, on their exterior.

When the building came up most of us Kenyans were surprised at how bold they dared to be with this colour choice. I admired how they used such a subtle colour to create such a dramatic effect. Hate it or love it, you’ll notice the Villa Rosa Kempinski.

A couple of months ago I had the pleasure of staying at the hotel and in the midst of all the classic designs the one thing that stood out for me were the headboards. Why the headboards you ask? Well, Kempinski kept true to their ability to use a classic element to create a bold feature.

Therefore in the spirit of letting pictures do most of the talking I shall let you see you for yourselves what I mean.

So welcome to the Villa Rosa Kempinski; THE HEADBOARD EDITION!

Do you see what I mean about the headboards? The rooms tend to be very classic and quite simple, but those headboards just give them that wow factor.

Oh, and just in case you haven’t noticed the hotel also embraced the second pantone color of 2016 in its interiors. Check out the bolster cushions, the accent wall and the highlights in the headboard design, that shade of blue is SERENITY BLUE. For all those in doubt about how this soft apparently baby color can be used to create a mature sophisticated space…here you go!

Headboards are the best thing to happen to beds since spring mattresses (let the record show I love spring mattresses). They, headboards, are not only practical in regards to the comfort they offer you when sitting up but they also enable you to add a statement to a room. The length and choice in print that Kempinski made with their headboards not only helps them stand out but also gives the rooms that glam effect.

What say you? Are you nay or yay for the kempinski headboards? Would you have one in your home and if you already do what style have you gone with? Tell me what you think in the comment section below.
