Naifurt is a collage series by Jordan Rita Seruya Awori (JRSA) that weaves together archival photographs and maps from Nairobi and Frankfurt, incorporating stitching and beadwork inspired by the visual languages of both cultures. Through layering and tactile detail, the works trace a visual conversation between two cities that have shaped the artist’s sense of place—Nairobi, where she was born and raised, and Frankfurt, her home since 2020.

Drawing from personal experience and quiet observation, the artist reflects on the unexpected resonances between these seemingly disparate urban landscapes. Naifurt is a meditation on connection—across continents, histories, and textures. Each composition resists the impulse to separate or categorise, instead embracing hybridity as a mode of seeing. The result is a series where boundaries blur, and where the threads of one city seamlessly entangle with the other, making it nearly impossible to determine where Nairobi ends and Frankfurt begins.
